About Us

SEIU United Long Term Care Workers (ULTCW) is California’s leading long term care organization dedicated to providing and protecting quality care for some of our most vulnerable residents. SEIU ULTCW represents 180,000 in-home care providers and nursing home workers throughout California, making it the largest union of long term care givers in California and the second largest SEIU local in the nation.

ULTCW in-home care members live in the following counties: Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Solano, Napa, Mendocino, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Ventura and Alameda. ULTCW nursing home members live throughout the state of California.

HISTORY OF THE HOME CARE MOVEMENT

Because of the determination of a few brave women back in the 1980’s, our local and its founding members played a pivotal role in providing a voice to hundreds of thousands of home care providers throughout California and the nation.  To learn more about the history of organizing home care providers and the victories our members have celebrated, click here.
