In honor of the quality care that the SEIU United Long Term Care Workers provide, the Hands-on Healing exhibit shines a light on the connection between the nurturing of others and nurturing our environment through our actions and voices. Whether touching, soothing, feeding, or raised as clenched fist, hands can stir emotion and change minds. This exhibit is centered on issues of social justice and features artists who use their work as a vehicle for social change.
You will be able to see the exhibit on the first floor gallery at the ULTCW office located at 2515 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA, starting on Friday, October 7th. Artists will also be leading protest-poster making workshops in Los Angeles, Solano and San Bernadino couties for ULTCW members.
The exhibit, curated by Chris Hambrick, features internationally acclaimed artists and local favorites, including Favianna Rodriguez, Steve Alfaro, Ana Teresa Fernandez, Zeal Harris, Kristi Holohan, Safety First, Melanie Cervantes, Jesus Barraza, Ras Terms, Luca Bogoni & Nele Bronner, Power to the Poster, Hertz Alegrio, Oscar Magallanes and Larissa Marantz.
